The Bible is packed with verses about love. But one of the most powerful and well-known is from the book of Romans, where it says that love comes from God. This love is a brotherly love—a love that is unconditional and forgiving. It’s a love that is there for us, no matter what. In the story of Jesus, he washes his disciples feet. He takes their shoes off, and they all stand up on the shore to watch Him do it. He knew that this was a sacred moment in their lives. But he also knew that this was a special time for him too. He wanted to show them that he cared about them, and he wanted to teach them how they were to live their lives in the future.
