What is the meaning of 666 in the Bible?
In Revelation 13:18, it is mentioned as “the number of a man” and he is called “the beast”. In verse 18, 666 is said to be “the number of a man.”
” This word “beast” means an animal or monster.
The Greek word for this word is bestes which literally means wild beasts. It can also mean any kind of evil person who does not follow God’s commandments. So when we read about the beast here, we should understand that it refers to some wicked people who are against God’s law. The Hebrew equivalent of this word is חיה (chayah) which means a living creature. But according to Jewish tradition, the term chayah was used only for animals like lions, tigers etc.
